MARTHA   PRIMROSE

Martha Primrose is a a testament to boat building skills and a celebration of the natural world, the heart of the tree in harmony with the magic of the sea.  She has the timeless feeling of being on a wooden yacht on the water.  A perfect blue water sailing yacht, able to cover the miles and feel safe and held in the waves, she is also a gift of space and freedom - a space to think and be creative, to tell stories; an alternative way of living and life that captures an essence of life, set apart from the digital era.

As a traditional sailing yacht she is fast due to her cut away under water shape making for quick passage making.  Her length and robust construction gives her a stiffness and sea worthiness that makes for comfortable motion and the feeling of a  'big' sailing boat in a seaway.  But her gear is light and easy to manage, even for one.  She has a carbon fibre gaff and the split yawl rig which means the mainsail is not an enormous area or dauntingly long boom.  Her two head sails are of good size but light to stow, hoist and unfurl with a wyker martin roller furler.  Below she is really roomy and light with an amazing atmosphere, welcoming and joyful.  She is homely, warm and dry.  She can sleep up to 6 happily.  Her decks are clear of clutter and gorgeous for relaxing o or yoga.  In terms of maintenance she is relatively low with painted coverboards and bare wood cap rail but her over all feel and appearance is one of a shining classic beauty which would be as elegant in a classic wooden yacht regatta in Cowes or Antiqua as swinging at anchor up the quiet reaches of a secluded river.  Handling her with her tiller is easy and fun as she is light and responsive on the helm.    Martha Primrose accommodates children easily, from two tiny tots safe and playing in the cockpit or in the v berth up forward, to the excitement of sailing with teenagers able to easily manage the helm, engaged with the thrill of a voyage and arriving at a new destination.  Her size and new like feel means there is a reassurance that construction is strong and sound that is such peace of mind when in a rough sea.
